Naked Smurf Invasion? This Photographer Takes Nude Art To A Whole New Level

More than 3,000 people painted their naked bodies in different shades of blue and participated in this massive city installation by Spencer Tunick.

It’s very strange, yet intriguing to see a completely blue crowd walking on the streets of the city of Hull. I can only imagine what it would have been like to witness it in person. Here’s how the Hull Daily Mail describes it.

Sea of Hull created a huge buzz around the city on Saturday when thousands of blue-painted naked people flooded the streets of Old Town for a Spencer Tunick photoshoot.

The event offers a taste of what is to come in 2017 when Hull becomes the UK City of Culture. And if its success is anything to go by, next year really will be one of the best in our history.

The Mail was there to capture all of the best moments both during and after Sea of Hull. Here are 21 of the best pictures and look out for more when we celebrate the event in Monday’s paper.

Tunick was thrilled with the results. He said: “The Sea of Hull installation was one of the most fantastic projects I’ve ever done, and it was inspiring to be able to intertwine the city’s maritime heritage against an urban back-drop throughout the whole piece.
