One of the favorite things about my work is that I often get to take portraits of little kids and their parents. This can be a challenging task, as those little kids are the boss and you have to do things their way, or they’re not going to have a lot of fun.
What children don’t like is waiting around when grown-ups do things that are not interesting. This would include moving light stands around, constantly changing locations, and waiting for the photographer to get their camera settings right. With kids you need to get along with the minimum amount of gear, and you need to be able to work fast.
