When you’re taking photos of landscapes, you usually end up with very high contrast images.
If you’re exposing for the shadows, the sky in your image will most likely be blown out. If you’re exposing for the highlights you are not going to see very much detail in the shadow areas of your picture. Post-processing is a very important part of landscape photography.
