I live in a small town of about 11,000 people. What I’ve noticed over the years is that many of the most common marketing tips for photographers don’t work at all here. And it kind of makes sense, too. When life is so completely different in a small town compared to big cities, it would be weird if the exact same marketing tricks worked just as well in both scenarios.

Sometimes I’ve read articles where professional photographers have been trying to adjust their “city tips” so that they would suit us small town photographers better. However, it always feels like those tips are just a little off. Which is understandable – how could you know what works in a small town if you’ve never lived in one?
