If you just jump straight to manual it’s a lot of different moving parts to wrap your head around.

Aperture priority mode is a great place to start. It allows you to create beautifully artistic images without having to worry about the other settings that could mess up your exposure. I personally shoot in Aperture Priority Mode 95% of the time. In this video Wayne Moran guides us through aperture priority mode.

Ouch Moe Taib ! Did you know that more often than not brain dead snap shooters become REAL photographers as you put it? How did you start out ? I thought that is what is was all about encouraging beginners, the hobbyists and in general people who simply love photography. It’s posts like this that help them but not your comment. Frustrating!

Moe Taib…brain dead snap shooter? Really? Well, as an amateur trying to learn, I’ll happily take on that moniker and not care a whit. I enjoy photography as a hobby and have taken some pretty spectacular photos with my old Sony point-and-shoot, before stepping up to an SLR. Don’t be afraid of all the newbies, and get used to us. Because there are a lot of us out here; if nothing else, armed with tablets and phones. I come to this site to learn, not be criticized by snotty “professionals.”

Aperture and shutter priority are great tools to use in kinetic shooting environments, where events don’t allow time to manually adjust all of your settings.

i find that people that criticize others and think they know it all because they shoot in manual and raw are the real failures . I look at real photographers work and admire a think that one day I will be able to do that .i never cut anyone down for trying ,the people that do that and think they know it all and will never be able to learn anything new .
Buy the way it was a great article this is what helps the beginner .
