I love taking portraits; weddings, kids, engagement – you name it. But these are all photographs that my clients have wanted me to take.
They’ve booked a photoshoot, picked their clothing and combed their hair. They are prepared for the fact that a complete stranger is going to point a camera at them and take their picture.
I am terrified of taking candid portraits. I have an enormous amount of respect towards street photographers, for being able to capture such genuine moments without preparing and planning ahead. I’m not exactly sure what I’m afraid of, but it sure isn’t easy for me.
