[BEWARE PHOTOGRAPHERS] Failing To Do These Things Can Be Dangerous To You AND Your Camera
People who have never experienced winter in the coldest parts of the world have no idea what it’s like. I live in the Northern Finland, which means sometimes the temperature gets down to about -28 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s when a five minute walk outside, wearing 4 layers of clothing, will make your eye-lashes freeze.
I probably wouldn’t even consider taking my camera out at these temperatures, not for longer than a few minutes, anyway. Unless it was one of my fully manual vintage film cameras. But when I do photograph in the winter (when it’s not that cold) I always plan and prepare well. You can easily harm your gear and yourself if you don’t understand how the cold weather affects everything.
