I had an issue with images that weren’t completely blurry but not quite sharp either. You couldn’t see it looking at the camera’s screen but every time I started post-processing my photos I would cringe. For a long time I tried to blame it on myself; I thought maybe I wasn’t using the right shutter speed after all. Or maybe I had failed to clean the lens and there was a smudge or something, or perhaps I had focused on the wrong spot even though I knew I had been careful. It was an eye-opening experience to realize that it wasn’t me – it was my camera.
Since I shoot a lot of older manual focus lenses (my niche is macro) this isn’t needed
This happens a lot to zoom lenses rarely to prime lenses. that is why I stopped using zoom lenses unless it’s absolutely necessary.
