1000's of Unprinted Photos? Finally Display them!

Fireside Photo Frame

So how is fireside going to succeed where the digital frames of the past have failed? Well to start off with it’s going to be high resolution. And instead of the pixelated matte screens it will be glass and HD1080p. More along the lines of an iPad or an Android tablet. I must say my digital images look really good on my iPad.

Secondly there is an app that connects to the frame. So you can automatically upload pictures to the frame via the cloud. It also employs a type of smart technology that optimizes the photos it shows you. A couple of examples from the Kickstarter campaign video are birthdays and anniversaries.

If it’s your birthday it will show you photos from your birthday last year or, perhaps the year before that maybe even further back depending on how your content has been stored. The same goes with a wedding anniversary. If it’s your wedding anniversary it may show you photos and videos from your wedding.

I must say that it looks kind of expensive if you sign up now you can get the service for $68 for the first year they plan on selling the service for $99 a year. Or right now for $339 you can get a white or a black version of the frame that includes the first year service. There’s only a few of these left though and it will be going up to $399 after that.

I must say that I thought the entry price was kind of expensive. However, when you take into the account what it would take you to print and display those photos it’s not that bad. I’m teetering on whether to buy one right now or not.
