When I started out in photography I had no clue about memory cards. All that mattered to me was that I could get a memory card as large as possible, for as little money as possible.
But as I got better in photography and actually started to learn new photography techniques, those cheap memory cards were seriously starting to bug me.
I remember trying to shoot high quality photos of a fast-moving subject. I was shooting burst, of course, and suddenly my DSLR jammed. I completely freaked out at first – I thought my camera was broken.
But when I realized the memory card just couldn’t handle taking all those photos at that speed, it really started to annoy me. I was literally missing some of my best shots because of the SD card I was using.
