[ATTENTION PHOTOGRAPHERS] Do You Take It Personally When Someone Declines Your Offer? Here’s How To Turn It Into Your Advantage
During this time running a business of my own (yet a short time, really) I have had to face a couple of uncomfortable situations. I’ve been asked for an offer for a photoshoot or two but never heard back from these possible clients.
It’s almost unbelievable how it affects me. There may be a dozen different reasons why they haven’t accepted my offer. Maybe I’m too expensive for them, or too cheap. Maybe they like my work but prefer another photographer’s even more. Maybe they just decided not to have their photos taken after all. It could be anything.
But still, my first thought is always “I’m not good enough for them” or “I should have done something differently”. It’s a really bad idea to think of it this way.

As soon as I start doubting myself, my skills or my prices, it affects everything in my business. What I should do instead is start turning these situations into a way to make my business and my photography even better.
