GROUP GUIDELINES

Before you can enter the group we must confirm that you requested entry on our website at http://www.modernlensmagazine.com/join-our-private-facebook-group/

If you used the same name and email that you use for Facebook you should be fine. Otherwise it may take a moment for one of our staff to verify your identity before allowing you into the group.

Please be sure to take a couple of minutes to read this entire document before posting in the Modern Lens Magazine Private Group. This will detail for you exactly how this group works.

1. FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANTLY WE WILL REMOVE YOU FROM THE GROUP IF YOU ARE DISRESPECTFUL OR INFLAMMATORY TO OTHER MEMBERS OF THE GROUP. CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM IS CONSTRUCTIVE- NOT INSULTING. THIS IS A POSITIVE CREATIVE ENVIRONMENT AND HATERS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
2. PARTICIPATE BY HELPING OTHERS- We believe in the principle of reciprocity. If you participate and are helpful to others they are more likely to be helpful to you.
3. EVERYONE IS WELCOME- Beginners, intermediate and advanced. If you’re a beginner don’t be afraid to post your photos. There are a lot of people here who are willing to help you grow as a photographer.
4. NO NUDITY OR SEXUALLY SUGGESTIVE CONTENT- Even though this is a private group this is something we don’t do. If you think it might not be family friendly DON’T POST IT. If you continue to do this you will be banned from the group. If you see something inappropriate please report it to us so we can remove it.
5. NO SELLING OR SELF PROMOTION This community is not a bulletin board. You can post a link to your page but no “Buy my…”, “Like my…”. We want to keep this group about learning. Repeat offenders will be removed from the group.
6. ONLY POST YOUR OWN IMAGES Posting someone else’s images without permission is intellectual property theft even if you give them credit for the image. Doing so is cause for removal from the group. Many photographers take this very seriously.
7. TELL US ABOUT YOUR PHOTO Camera Settings, lighting, post production etc..
8. WORK YOU POST HERE WILL BE SHARED PUBLICLY Please do not share your work here unless you’re OK with that. We may use your image in Modern Lens Magazine or on our Facebook Page and WILL GIVE YOU FULL CREDIT for the image. Posting great images here is a great way to get “Published” in Modern Lens Magazine. If you share someone else’s work please limit that sharing to Facebook. Do not use other members photos for any other purpose than sharing
9. ASK QUESTIONS You can simply post a photo and ask for a critique. However if there’s something in particular that you would like to know be sure to ask so you can get the answers you’re looking for. This applies to images that belong to others as well.
10. POST ONLY TWO PHOTOS DAILY and let me repeat as before mentioned. Tell us about the photo and ask questions.
